Claudio Pulicati introduced his collection GEA in September 2018 coloured single-flower ceramic vases created with a special technique, where each piece is covered with clay to show the rough texture on the surface. The vases are available in yellow, pink, black, violet, red, ivory and blue.
The name of the collection comes from mythological goddess, who, as the mother of everything, “contains, protects and nourishes” the flower while waiting for this gift of love to blossom. Claudio is currently based in Ischia - a small Italian volcanic island, that plays an important role in building his creative imagination.
"Just as a man is born naked, - dressed - in the skin that envelops and protects the body, for then cover yourself with clothes, these single-flower vases are born in white earth and to dress them is a colored engobe, that after a delicate treatment takes on a dusty appearance, allowing the essence of the ceramic material to powerfully come to light.
Gea is a serial object that responds to emotional, emotional, intangible needs, born of desire of a design that can bring back the frenetic life of man, even for a brief moment, to the slower size of the ritual. Through a delicate process of realization it is characterized by a thick armor, a skin rough and harsh, seemingly insensitive to life, but which can hide a flowering bed, a germinal place of metamorphosis and individual introspection. It takes its name from the primitive mythological divinity, which, as a generating mother, contains, protects and nourishes, waiting for the strength of a love to sprout. Just a flower to move the air. " by Claudio Pulicati.
